Oswego Yacht Club Hosts Annual LYRA Regatta

OSWEGO – Sails will fill the harbor July 31 through Aug. 5 when the Oswego Yacht Club hosts Lake Yacht Racing Association’s 128th annual regatta.

This year marks the first time since 1928 that Oswego has hosted this prestigious event.

Approximately 65-70 teams from U.S. and Canadian ports will participate.

Teams will sail out of Rochester and Henderson Harbor and race to Oswego Tuesday.

Freeman Cup night race begins at 5 p.m. Aug. 1.

Three-day course racing takes place Aug. 3, 4 and 5 outside the Oswego Harbor.

Race headquarters are Oswego International Marina, 19 Lake St., Oswego.
