It wouldn’t be fall without the Annual Parish Elementary School Picnic. The school year’s rite of passage marks a time when families re-connect with each other as they embark on a new school year in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District.
Hundreds turned out for the event that featured a fall carnival theme. Picnic fare included a choice of hamburger or hot dog along with traditional picnic choices of salads, salt potatoes, and much more.
A beautiful crisp day greeted the visitors to the school where a fall festival atmosphere awaited them in the gymnasium. Outdoor activities included an obstacle course to burn off some extra energy as well as a fun group parachute activity. Inside there were carnival games and prizes, cotton candy, popcorn, face painting, and balloon creations by Henry Gloude.
The picnic serves as a chance to bring the families and school community together as the new school year begins. The picnic was sponsored by the Parent Teacher Association.
