Fulton, NY – Veteran Central New York musician, Paul Taylor, will provide the musical entertainment following the 6th annual Child Advocacy Center’s ‘Blue Ribbon Ride’ Against Child Abuse. Scheduled for Saturday, August 22nd, the event is part of the CAC’s Blue Ribbon Campaign that focuses on child abuse awareness and prevention.

The CAC’s ‘Blue Ribbon Ride’ is a nearly 80-mile motorcycle ride that winds throughout Oswego County. Following the ride participants and community members will gather at Sweet Inspirations Drive-In on Route 3 in Fulton for an afternoon of fun, a chicken barbecue, and great music with a performance by Paul Taylor.

A New York State Country Music Hall of Honor inductee and 2008 SAMMY award winner, Paul Taylor is an accomplished guitarist and vocalist who often plays the banjo, mandolin and harmonica as well in his live solo performances. He performs a diverse selection of music and often lets the audience dictate his set list through songs requests. Strong vocals and intricate instrumental parts are other hallmarks of his live performances. For more information on Paul Taylor you may visit his website at www.paultaylorband.com

The CAC is a non-profit organization that works hand-in-hand with local law enforcement, prosecution, child protective services, medical providers, therapy providers, and victim advocacy professionals in Oswego County to protect and serve child victims of sexual and physical abuse. In 2008 the CAC served more than 230 children as sexual abuse cases in Oswego County rose by more than 70%.

‘We provide therapy and services to approximately 50 children each week. It is becoming increasingly more difficult to for us to meet the increase demand. Our goal with the ‘Blue Ribbon Ride’ is not only raise awareness of child abuse in Oswego County, but also help us raise some much needed funds to help us to continue to serve our community as a resource for children and families touched by this abuse. Many free services are provided to the victims that come to the CAC and without the support of the community we would not be able to help these children,’ added VanSanford.

Drivers and riders will be able to register the day of the event. A $30 donation per driver and a $20 donation per passenger are requested. Riders who obtain $100 or more in donations will ride and dine for free and receive a collectable pin. As an added incentive for bikers, the CAC will be awarding the individual who collects the most sponsorships with two tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert on August 28th at the New York State Fair. All proceeds from the event will benefit the CAC’s Blue Ribbon Campaign. Day of registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the ride beginning at 12 Noon.
