OSWEGO, NY – This year’s Leadership Oswego County class has decided to take its mission, to connect seniors in the community, one step further.
They have begun recruiting volunteers at various senior living facilities to participate in a pen pal project.

Each person who participates will fill out a questionnaire about themselves.
Members of the class will pair up those who appear to have the same interests.
“If we can help others make a connection they may not have made otherwise, we consider that a success,” explained Erin Nalle, member of the project.
In the first week of May, the pen pal volunteers will receive their matches.
In addition to the pen pal delivery, the class will be distributing special gifts.
The delivery locations will include, Towpath Towers and Fulton Mills, located in Fulton, Springbrook in Pulaski, SimeonDewitt and St. Lukes in Oswego and Meadowview, Central Square.
The leadership class began collecting donations in January.
The final donation site will be the Central Square Wal-Mart, on April 27 from noon – 2 p.m.
Members of the class will be on site handing out a list of items still needed.
