PHOENIX — The Phoenix Central School District recently welcomed families into its schools for fall open houses, providing opportunities to connect with educators, explore learning environments and learn more about resources available to support student success, according to a district news release.
At Michael A. Maroun Elementary School, the Parent Faculty Organization hosted a community event before the open house. Families enjoyed a food truck and had opportunities to play, interact and spend time together before heading inside to meet teachers and explore their children’s classrooms.
At Emerson J. Dillon Middle School, the open house highlighted resources available to parents to help their children succeed academically and navigate the middle school experience. Families had opportunities to connect with staff and learn more about support available to students.
At John C. Birdlebough High School, families visited classrooms, met with teachers and learned more about their students’ educational experiences and coursework.
The district said the fall open houses offered opportunities to strengthen the partnership between home and school while helping families feel connected to their children’s education.
“We truly appreciate the continued involvement of families and recognize the important role that strong home-school connections play in supporting student achievement,” said Superintendent Dr. Ryan Lanigan.
