PHOENIX, NY – The third annual Local Landscape & Landmark Art Exhibit spotlights the region’s natural beauty, rich history, and talent in the 120th assembly district.
It awarded the Phoenix Central School District art students the Best In Show for Youth award. The mural “Phoenix: A Community on the River” was painted by art students at the high school. The John C. Birdlebough students who participated in the mural are: Alex Bell, Emily Danquer, Correy McAllister, Jenna Moore, Jason Bell, Eero Clounch, Ace Dean, and Melody Payne with the assistance of PCSD Art teacher Chris Barnes.
The mural was a collaborative effort between the PCSD and the Village of Phoenix. The permanent artwork was sponsored by Ripley, Garlock & Associates.
“As a community, it is important to support local artists. The mural is the perfect representation of downtown Phoenix and I was happy to donate the supplies and the wall on the building to represent my dedication to the Phoenix community,” said Dean Ripley, founding partner.
