The faire will be set up on the lawn to the north of the Oswego Civic Arts Center at Fort Ontario.

Look for the Gypsy Wagon.

The Fairy Tale Faire is an opportunity to enjoy some old fashioned family fun, with games, prizes and events like jousting and sword play.

There will be shields and swords to decorate, a Medieval pillory to get into for photos and much more.

The highlight of the afternoon will come at 2:30 when youngsters will be invited to take up their weapons against the dragon holding a princess as hostage in Fort Ontario.

It is hoped that together the youngsters will be able to rescue the princess from the fierce dragon.

The Fairy Tale Faire is open to everyone.

There are small charges for the games and for purchase of the shields and swords.

Youngsters are urged to come in costume of some kind (no horror characters) so that they can all join together as the “army” to attack Fort Ontario to rescue the princess.

There is no rain date for the event.
