Porky and Buddy Pet Health – Let Your Voices Be Heard

Porky and Buddy

Dear Readers,
Continuing on about making 2018 the Year of Kindness, another purpose of this column is to provide animal lovers with information about upcoming legislation, good or bad, that affects animals.

Because sometimes you just have to make people do what is right or make them stop doing what is wrong.

You need to be heard on these legislative initiatives and the very best way to make yourself heard is to simply call your local legislator.

Phone calls are much more effective than online petitions.

It’s OK to sign them if you want, but please don’t stop there.

You don’t need to speak to the actual legislator and you probably won’t be able to.

Just tell the person who answers the phone that you would like to speak to someone about the specific bill you are interested in supporting or opposing.

You will be directed to the right person and, trust us on this, your voice, as a voter in the district, counts.

You don’t need to go on and on or argue your point of view.

Just politely tell the staff person that you support or oppose the bill and that you are a voter.

We want you to cut this column out and keep it handy so that when you get an email from the Oswego County Humane Society about what needs to be done, you have the information you need.

Here they are:

US Senators
Chuck Shumer-315-423-5471
