PHOENIX – On May 1 at 6:30 p.m., the Phoenix Public Library will host Susan Savion, local historian and retired educator, in the Century Club Room.
Savion will discuss the life of Matilda Joslyn Gage and her book, “Quoting Matilda.”
Savion describes Gage as a “well-educated suffragist, abolitionist, mother-in-law of Frank L. Baum, and prolific writer who was ‘written out of history’ because she was too progressive for her 19th century era.”
Please join us for this presentation of a Central New York woman who helped shaped the role of women in modern America.
Contact the library at 315-695-4355 for more information.
