SYRACUSE, NY – The Diocese of Syracuse has announced the following priest retirements and assignment changes:
Priest retirements
Father Philip C. Brockmyre, pastor of St. Stephen’s Church in Phoenix: retires August 1, 2018.
Father Paul J. Drobin, Newman chaplain with the Newman Community at Utica College: retires July 1, 2018.
Father James C. Fritzen, pastor of Christ the King Church in Liverpool: retires July 1, 2018.
Father Joseph H. Phillips, administrator of St. Patrick’s Church in Truxton and St. Lawrence Mission in DeRuyter: retires July 1, 2018.
Father Edward J. Reimer, pastor of St. Patrick’s Church in Chittenango: retires July 1, 2018.
Father John C. Schopfer, special ministry with Brady Faith Center: retired April 2, 2018.
Priest assignment changes
Father Paul J. Alciati, pastor of St. Margaret Church in Homer: additional responsibilities of St. Patrick Church in Truxton and St. Lawrence Mission in DeRuyter, now incorporated into St. Margaret’s Church, effective July 1, 2018.
Father Kevin J. Corcoran, pastor of St. James Church in Cazenovia: additional responsibilities of the linked parish of St. Patrick’s Church in Chittenango, effective July 1, 2018.
Father Jason C. Hage, administrator of St. Mary’s Church in Hamilton and St. Joan of Arc Mission in Morrisville with continuing responsibilities of campus ministry at Colgate University: appointed pastor, effective July 1, 2018.
Father Charles Heston Joseph from the Archdiocese of Madurai, India: appointed parochial vicar of Saints John and Andrew in Binghamton, effective July 2, 2018.
Father Zachary K. Miller, appointed administrator of Christ the King Church in Liverpool, effective August 1, 2018.
Father Matthew E. Rawson, ordained on June 2, 2018: appointed parochial vicar at Holy Cross Church in De Witt, effective July 1, 2018.
Father Joseph E. Scardella, pastor of the Church of the Holy Trinity in Fulton: additional responsibilities of the linked parish of St. Stephen’s Church in Phoenix, effective August 1, 2018.
