FULTON – The Oswego County Department of Community opment, Tourism and Planning will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. June 26 to discuss plans for planting native trees to help reduce stormwater pollution in the city of Fulton.
The meeting will be held at the Fulton Municipal Building, 141 S. First St., Fulton.
Atlantic States Legal Foundation is working with the county, the city of Fulton, Oswego Health, and other community partners to evaluate former industrial and commercial areas and other urban sites for tree planting through the U.S. Forest Service’s Great Lakes Restoration Initiative project.
Several areas have been identified as potential planting sites.
They include Oswego Falls Park, Eastside Pool and Sharp’s Pond area, Indian Point Landing, Recreation Park along William Gillard Drive and along South First Street.
The public is invited to attend the June 26 meeting to learn more about the project and suggest additional sites.

The Great Lakes Restoration Initiative was launched in 2010 to accelerate efforts to protect and restore the Great Lakes, the largest system of fresh surface water in the world.
