PULASKI, NY – Pulaski High School’s Battle of the Books team recently took home regional gold against eight teams from all over Central New York.

GMackenna L. (12th grade), Marisol B. (11th grade), and Emily H. (10th grade) made up the team that captured the honor for the school.

Battle of the Books is a reading competition in which students must read several books and be able to answer a variety of questions regarding content from the books. The competition starts at the district level, with students competing against their peers for the honor to represent their district at the regional level.

“This is our school’s second regional win since I started in 2019, with the first being in the 2020-21 battle,” said Pulaski High School Librarian Bridget Collins. “Mackenna was on that winning team as well. I’m so proud of all the students who participated. They prove that a love of reading can persevere throughout a student’s life, even when they’re balancing rigorous academics and extracurriculars.”
