Accelerated Reader is a reading incentive program designed to inspire children to read. Fairgrieve students sign out and read AR books from the school library, take computerized reading comprehension tests about the books and earn points based on the number of questions answered correctly.
Select students at Fairgrieve Elementary School were recently invited to an Accelerated Reader sundae party for participating in the program and meeting the points goal for their class level.
Fifth grade student Hailly Bourlier enjoys a bowl of ice cream at a recent Accelerated Reader sundae party at Fairgrieve Elementary School. Students who met their school wide goal for each grade level were invited to the library for dessert and watched Pixar short films. They were also given a ticket good for one visit to the Granby pool. Eighteen fifth graders from three classrooms earned 45 or more AR points.
