Record-Setting Great Cloth Diaper Change, Healthy Baby Expo Returns To Oswego

OSWEGO, NY – On April 23, Mother Earth Baby will be host to the Oswego site of the sixth annual international Great Cloth Diaper Change and Healthy Baby Expo.

This year’s event will take place at Elim Grace Church, 340 W. First St., from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

This fun family event is ideal for new and expecting moms, families and for children of all ages with a focus on health and wellness for young children and their families.

This event draws hundreds of families across Central and Northern New York.

This is a free community event and the first 100 registered to participate in the GCDC will receive a swag bag full of goodies.

Anyone is welcome to participate in the event and babies do not need to arrive in a cloth diaper to participate.

We encourage participants to register at www.healthybabyexpo.com to reserve your swag bag.

Additionally, the event will feature fun family and youth activities, a babywearing dance, a Daddy Diaper Derby (with prizes), vendor exhibits and direct sales, free samples, product demonstrations, workshops and more.

In addition, there will be a raffle this year with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the New York Milk Bank to establish a new donor milk collection site in Oswego, the only site of its kind in New York State outside the New York City area.

The event takes place the same week as Earth Day every year.

There are currently 227 sites in 19 countries participating in this epic event.

The Great Cloth Diaper Change event will attempt to break the current World Record of 8,459 babies changed at one time around the world.

Each year billions of disposable diapers enter landfills where it takes hundreds of years for them to decompose, if ever.

In five successful years of the Great Cloth Diaper Change event, participants have shown the entire world that cloth diapers are a real option for today’s modern families, particularly catching the eye of expecting and new parents who may be seeking more planet-friendly and affordable alternatives to disposable diapers.

Some of the great benefits of using cloth diapers include:

•             Affordability – Using cloth may save up to $2500

•             Environmentally – Disposable diapers take more than 500 years to decompose

•             Health – Less diaper rash and allergic reactions

•             Fashionable – With many colors and prints to choose from…how can you resist?
