Red Baron Pizza Sponsors Kids’ Fun Run At Loop Around The Lake Event

FULTON, NY — The Fulton YMCA will once again partner with Red Baron Pizza to bring the Loop Around the Lake Kids’ Fun Run on August 23.

The event offers a variety of distances for young runners of all ages.

Distances include 70 yards for 5 years and under, a ¼ mile for 6-7 year olds, ½ mile for 8-9 years and 1 mile for 10-12 year olds.

Each child will receive a T-shirt, finisher ribbon along with post run refreshments.

The Fulton Family YMCA is excited to bring this day of healthy fun for the entire family.

The event is not just for runners as there is also a 5k walk. The annual Loop around the Lake event includes a 15 kilometer run, a 5 kilometer run, and a 5 kilometer walk.

These three races cater to everyone of every level of fitness.

The goal of the event is to get families and friends moving.

“We offer three different categories to encourage more people to participate”, said Trish Levine, Health and Wellness Director.

It is the goal of the event to get community members who have never participated in a road race before.

She noted that road races are not just for competitive runners anymore and that they have become something to do with family and friends.

The Loop’s 15K/5K Run and 5K Walk, start at 8:30 a.m. at the Fulton War Memorial.

The 15K loops around Lake Neatahwanta, offering some flat roads as well as some challenging
hills.

The 5K has a more scenic route, winding through local roads and neighborhoods.

Race Applications are available at the Fulton YMCA, at the Fulton Family website at www.fultonymca.com or at EZRaceReg.com
