The Mexico Public Library will be sponsoring the 22nd annual 5K run and walk and a fun run on September 22 at the Mexico High School.
All events start on the Mexico High School athletic fields. The fun run begins at 8:30 on the track and the 5K Cider Run/Walk begins at 9:00 on Liberty Street. The first 125 registrants for the 5K run/walk receive a free long-sleeved T-shirt, designed especially for the Cider Run by Custom Novelty Prints.

Returning corporate sponsors include Entergy Nuclear Northeast, Key Bank, Pathfinder Bank, Mexico Health Center, Mexico Big M, Custom Novelty Prints, Agency Specialists, Ye Olde Hair Shoppe, Paulanjo’s Pizza, and Mane Street Hair Salon. A new sponsor this year is Oswego County Federal Credit Union.
Again this year, AuyerTiming will provide timing and scoring for the 5K run and walk. AuyerTiming provides electronic timing services for many local and regional road, cross-country, cycling, and snowshoeing races during the year, including races in Lake Placid, Utica, Syracuse, and Auburn. Online registration can be completed now at www.EZRaceReg.com.

The Cider Run winds its way through the picturesque streets of the Village of Mexico and has become a popular running event for all ages. Over 160 runners and walkers participated in this race in 2011.
Proceeds benefit the Mexico Public Library.
