Researchers Invited to Apply for Small Grants for Projects at Rice Creek Field Station

OSWEGO — Rice Creek Associates seeks applications for its 15th annual small grants program to fund research projects at SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station.

Applicants need not work at or attend the college or its field station. Awards of $500 to $1,000 are available to support studies in field biology, natural science, social science and the arts. Deadline is March 22. Awards will be announced in April.

Rice Creek Field Station, about 1.5 miles south of Lake Ontario and the main SUNY Oswego campus, encompasses nearly 300 acres, including forest, field, land in various states of succession, trails, a creek and 26-acre Rice Pond. Facilities include a weather station, labs, a classroom, a small library, collection storage, small boats and more.

Member donations and other contributions fund RCA, a group that supports the education and research missions of the field station.
