North Volney Cemetery on Hall Road, town of Volney.
VOLNEY – After three years, the cemetery fence on County Route 4 (Hall Road) in North Volney is restored and standing straight and proud!
The cemetery association would like to thank the community, volunteers and everyone who made the restoration of the 100-year-old fence possible.
The 60 students of BOCES morning and afternoon welding classes worked hundred of hours welding and straightening rods, attaching knobs, fixing curls, twisting and reshaping rods, attaching hinges, restoring the gates and making poles.
The volunteers who primed, painted, dug holes and cemented the poles. The many who generously donated. With deepest gratitude, thank you.
Plans for next year are in progress for the celebration and dedication of this historic event.
