Riley Elementary Monthly Faculty Meeting Grows Collaboration Between Departments

Teachers at Riley Elementary in Oswego work on making an educational video during the school’s recent December Town Hall meeting.

OSWEGO – With a focus on collaboration, Charles E. Riley Elementary School Principal Tracy Eygnor recently hosted a December town hall meeting to bring staff together and build on existing strengths.

Through a blended approach of learning and collaboration with the Technology Department, teachers rotated through four stations and got to work on different technology programs that students in the school can use to enhance their lessons.

The first station centered around a green screen, and teachers made a quick video explaining what makes Riley shine. Station two saw teachers being tasked with putting together a digital puzzle that when complete, showed a photo of the staff members working together on the previous month’s “town hall.”

Station three was about using a digital whiteboard with Canva to share what excites teachers to get up in the morning every day. Finally, during station four, teachers had a sitdown breakfast with their co-workers that was hosted by Matt Goewey, who is the Director of Food Services.
