OSWEGO, NY – The annual “Ground Hog Day†celebration was held for Charles E. Riley kindergarten students.
The youngsters received a visit from art teacher Rebecca Wood who is a native of Punxsutawney, Pa.
She explained the story about “Phil†who appears on Feb. 2 to tell the world if there will be six more weeks of winter.
She also showed a display of ground hogs that are created for each year.
Teachers showed pictures, read books and made ground hog ice cream sundaes.
Enjoying the stuffed ground hogs along with Mrs. Wood are Leslie Warner, Darwin Warner, Olivia Wallace and Jeremiah Shoults.
