OSWEGO – With the second annual “Providing Autism Awareness and Creating Possibilities Workshop” just around the corner, local bookstore owner Bill Reilly from the River’s End Bookstore is hoping he too can serve as a resource to those touched by Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The collaboration between Reilly and the Oswego County Autism Task Force in the event planned for March 18 at the Lake Ontario Event & Conference Center, has lead way to additional resources available on site for purchase that are specifically geared towards families and providers who work with folks along the Spectrum.
“We are grateful to Bill Reilly and the River’s End Bookstore for providing this opportunity to purchase books by Brenda Myles and other experts in the field of Autism,” said OCATF President Tammy Thompson.
The featured keynote speaker is Brenda Smith Myles Ph.D., a consultant with the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence.
Dr. Myles has made more than 1,000 presentations all over the world and written more than 250 articles and books on Autism Spectrum Disorder.
She will spend the day sharing her knowledge and expertise about Meltdowns and the Hidden Curriculum, a set of rules or guidelines that are often not directly taught but are assumed to be known.
“We are certain the information Dr. Myles presents will benefit professionals, caregivers and loved ones who have been affected by Autism in Oswego County,” added Thompson.
