OSWEGO, NY – Rotary International sent 200 Shelter Boxes to Japan after the recent earthquake and tsunami.

The shelter boxes contain a 10-person tent, food and water for 30 days, sleeping bags and cooking utensils.

Rotary keeps these boxes on hand ready to respond to disasters.

John Czirr told the Oswego Sunrise Rotary that the shelter boxes were not sent to the tornado disaster in the South because neighbors welcomed the victims into their homes and as a result did not the need shelter as in Japan.

Czirr is a member of a Rotary Club in Tennessee that donated five of these boxes. missing or outdated ad config
