Members of the Oswego Rotary Club and AmeriCorps work at the children’s playground in Breitbeck Park on August 27. They spent the day replacing perimeter timbers, painting and staining the structures, and replacing the ground covering.

The work was done with the cooperation of the City Parks and Recreation Department.

The work involved replacing the timbers around the perimeter of the area, painting and staining the wood and metal structures and replacing the pea gravel covering the ground.

Partial funding for the project came as a grant from District 7150 of Rotary International and District Governor Peter F. Cardamone.

The balance was raised by Oswego Rotary Club fundraising projects and members’ contributions.

Raby’s Ace Home Center donated the treated timbers for the perimeter of the playground.

The Oswego Rotary Club provides a number of local services in addition to supporting humanitarian work around the globe.
