FULTON, NY – Acting president Jerry Sequin presented Jill Pelkey, from the Pregnancy Care Center, a $200 check.
The Fulton noon Rotary Club recently donated this amount to the Pregnancy Care Center to help it in its work.
According to the 2010-2012 NYS Vital Statistics Data (as of March 2014) the teen pregnancy rate in Fulton is 60.9 per 1,000 women.
This is the second highest in the county.
The center offers all of its services free of charge.
Its main work is support and counseling for the young and the pregnant.
It tries to help the impoverished with hope and empower them to succeed.
Through the generosity of the local people and churches, the center has been successful for 31 years.
This group does not receive funding from any government agencies.
