OSWEGO, NY – Rotary Area 8, Governor Paul Scott, introduced District Governor Lawrence Calabrese at this morning’s (Aug. 28) meeting of the Oswego Sunrise Rotary.
Governor Calabrese introduced his program of walk the walk.
His program for this year concentrated on the threat to children’s life in the world.
Children die of preventable diseases.
The lack of clean safe water is a real problem in the world.
Children are still contracting polio.
There have been 1000 cases this year.
The governor challenged the club to raise $1,000 to keep Rotary’s pledge to eliminate polio in the world.
The Oswego Sunrise Rotary meets at the Oswego Tea Company, 157 E. First St., each Thursday at 6:30 a.m.
