FULTON – Stephanie Montero, second from left, local long-term care ombudsman program coordinator for Arise, provided the Fulton Rotary with information on how the program provides citizen advocates between consumers and institutions.
The federal advocacy program is housed at ARISE and focuses on health and safety as well as the civil rights of consumers in long-term care.
The heart of the program is the 1,000 volunteers in New York State.
Rotary President Helen Hoefer, right, welcomes Ms. Montero and the program’s regional coordinator, Jeff Parker.
