The New York State Department of Transportation announced that on Friday, July 11, Route 183 will be closed in both directions for culvert replacement between Foil Road and Little Pond Road in the town of Williamstown, Oswego County. The following detour for through traffic is anticipated to be in place for approximately 60 days.
Detour for northbound through traffic: turn east on Route 69 in Amboy Center, then north on Route 17, then west on Route 13 to its intersection with Route 183 in Williamstown.
Detour for southbound through traffic: turn east on Route 13 in Williamstown, then south on Route 17, then west on Route 69 to the intersection with Route 183 in Amboy Center.
Local traffic will be able to proceed to, but not through, the work zone during the project.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
