Safety Champions Honored

OSWEGO, NY – The 2009 Safety Champions were recognized recently by the Oswego County Traffic Safety Board.

Seven awards were given out to celebrate dedication to traffic safety education, and one award was given for outstanding achievement in child passenger safety.

Two awardees were not able to attend.

They are Sue Ewald, from Fulton YMCA and Valerie Salazar, Altmar Elementary School.

Traffic safety presentations are provided free of charge to schools and civic groups thanks to grants from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
