Salvation Army Asks Realtors to Join in on Realtor Ring Day

SYRACUSE, NY – The Salvation Army Community Centers across Central and Western New York are on the lookout for local realtors to participate in the nationwide Realtor Ring Day on December 4.

“Join other realtors for an hour, several hours or longer. It’s a fun volunteer activity for your entire agency,” said Andrew Sabbaghzadeh of the Salvation Army. “Any amount of time helps The Salvation Army raise funds for Christmas food and toy assistance and helping those in need all year long.”

Realtor Ring Day is a day when real estate professionals across the country unite to staff as many Salvation Army kettles as possible in their local communities.

In Syracuse, kettles at Destiny USA, Shoppingtown Mall, Great Northern Mall and Sam’s Club on Erie Boulevard East will be staffed by local realtors from Realty USA, and Coldwell Banker.

Mark Re, vice president and general manager at Realty USA, has participated in Realtor Ring Day for several years.

“I believe in the mission of The Salvation Army and I am constantly amazed by the number of lives they improve in our community. That’s why I am encouraging all of my colleagues at Realty USA, as well as other agencies and volunteer at the Red Kettles,” he said. “It’s amazing the feeling you get when you ring at a kettle for just a couple of hours. It’s a great chance to interact with lots of people and while helping others in our community. The smiles we see are contagious!”

The Salvation Army’s Realtor Ring Day is in association with the National Association of Realtors.

The event debuted in 2010 with a few hundred real estate professionals bell ringing on a single day in Minnesota and North Dakota.

The event has grown each year, with real estate professionals from 26 states participating this year.

This year, thousands of realtors will all be ringing on Dec. 4.

The dollars raised at each kettle stay in the local community.

The event gives real estate professionals an opportunity to support a cause that is dear to them: housing. Kettle donations also fund additional Salvation Army programs such as food, rehabilitation and youth activities.
