FULTON – A spine-tingling success—there’s no other way to describe the night that was “Help Words Come Undead.” The special edition of the Playwrights group Help Words Come Alive, under a darkly whimsical moniker, cast its spell over a captivated audience, leaving no room for doubt that this Halloween-themed event was an absolute triumph.
Packed to the brim, the “dungeon” of the CNY Arts Center saw standing-room-only become the norm for this ghoulishly entertaining evening. A great array of local actors unleashed their talents to perform three bone-chilling short plays by Oswego’s “Master of Horror” Adam Sweeney.
As the cool, crisp autumn air set the stage, the audience found themselves transported into a world of macabre delight, where dark humor and spine-tingling horror danced on the edge of imagination. The staged readings, reminiscent of classic radio plays, allowed the talent of the actors and the power of Sweeney’s narratives to shine.
“The audience has spoken. This shan’t be the last time our fiendish hosts Maimy Grindhouse and Cod Squirreling cast a spell upon the CNY Arts Center. A new Halloween tradition has been wrought!” declares author Adam Sweeney.
The CNY Arts Center’s transformation into a haunted haven was a labor of love, a shared vision that resonated profoundly with the community. It’s clear that Oswego has a profound appetite for this unique brand of entertainment, where words truly come alive, even if they’re undead.
While the night may be over, the CNY Arts Center is already brewing up plans for more captivating performances in the future. Stay tuned for more thrilling tales and theatrical delights in the not-too-distant future!
The CNY Arts Center extends its heartfelt gratitude to the passionate audience, dedicated actors, and the entire community for making “Help Words Come Undead” an unforgettable evening of Halloween chills and thrills.
