Scholars Named by Children’s Board

Oswego –  The Children’s Board of Oswego presented three scholarships to selected students within the Oswego County area who demonstrated excellence in their academic endeavors.

Norman J. Berlin III and Haley Annal were recipients of five hundred dollar scholarships and senior, Kaitlin Friel was presented with the five hundred dollar Diane Falise Memorial Scholarship.  The Children’s Board committee considers both an applicant’s academic performance and their involvement in extracurricular activities, community service, honors and awards they have received, and the personal goals statement each submitted.

The Children’s Board of Oswego is a volunteer organization that works to help children across Oswego County.  Along with high school scholarships and the Unsung Hero Award, the board’s activities includes hospital tours, distribution of poison prevention information, free cultural performances, and collection of food and clothing for families in need.
