MEXICO – Members of the Operations and Maintenance departments from all nine Oswego County school districts, as well as from the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation, recently took part in the annual School Facilities Association Seminar and Trade Show held at Mexico Middle School.

The event, which provides essential staff development opportunities for O&M staff members, stressed the importance of safety awareness and emergency management.
According to CiTi’s Director of Facilities Wayne Wideman, the event drew nearly 200 participants from all nine Oswego County districts and CiTi. Additional, nearly 50 companies participated in the vendor trade show.
“The fact that we are able to bring all of the districts and CiTi and deliver a unified message or training is in many cases invaluable,” said Wideman. “This was one of our largest turnouts and I applaud all of the districts for taking part and taking advantage.”
According to Wideman, the success of the event can be attributed to the efforts of the Oswego County Chapter of Directors of Facilities.
In particular, Wideman applauded the efforts of Patti Cerio, CiTi’s Safety & Risk Coordinator, and David Crisafulli, Oswego City’s Director of Facilities.
Wideman also thanked Mexico Academy and Central School District and its O&M department for hosting the event at Mexico Middle School.
“The auditorium, lunchroom and gymnasium were just outstanding venues for our event. Mexico’s Director of Facilities Mike Woods and his crew delivered,” Wideman said.
