OSWEGO, New York – Farnham Family Services’ Second Annual Farnham Family Fun Day will take place this Sunday. September 20th, from 1-4 pm at Breitbeck Park in Oswego.
Central New York families are invited to attend the event as Farnham Family Services welcomes a variety of sponsors and new vendors/participants for what is sure to be a day of laughter and fun.
The event is free of charge and intended for children aged 14 and under. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Designated rides and games will be available for younger children.
According to Jeanne Unger, MS, Executive Director at Farnham Family Services, the event is a collaborative effort between many CNY-based organizations. Participating at the event will be Radio Disney, Dougherty’s Inflatable Rides, OCO Health Services, Families and School Together, YMCA, Family Health Plus, Fidelis Care, Oswego Neighborhood Watch Program, OCO WIC Program, Boy Scout Troup 888, Literacy Volunteers, OCO Youth Services, Oswego Fire Department/fire safety, Oswego County/City Youth Bureau, and the Oswego Children’s Theater.
“Last year’s event was a great success at the Oswego Speedway, but we wanted to move the venue this year into a park setting and were fortunate to be able to secure Breitbeck Park,” said Unger. “We’re excited to again be partnering with Radio Disney and all the others for our second Family Fun Day. The  feedback and enthusiasm from last year was tremendous and we hope that families will once again show their support by coming out to Breitbeck on the 20th.â€Â
The event will include a variety of inflatable bouncy rides, games, magicians, food, fun and more! There will also be special prize give-a-ways occurring every thirty minutes, and the Disney Prize Wheel will also be returning.
In addition, tickets will be on sale at the event for the 2009 Changing Lives Raffle. The raffle has been extended to November 6 and winners will be announced that evening at the Farnham Unplugged: Rock the Arts event at the American Foundry. A total of 12 cash prizes will be awarded. The tickets are $50 each, with all proceeds benefiting the Farnham Family Services’ Student Assistance Program/Youth Services.  If all tickets are not sold, prizes will be based on a percentage of the existing prize format.
Established in 1971, Farnham Family Services is a United Way agency that offers prevention services, school-based student assistance and treatment services to all residents of Oswego and surrounding counties. All services are licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services. Farnham’s professionally certified staff is comprised of competent and skillful individuals who are continually updated with training through conferences and workshops.
Their offices are located in the cities of Oswego and Fulton and provide comprehensive treatment services – including acupuncture detoxification.
