OSWEGO, NY – On Earth Day, April 22, Plant-a-Tree program coordinators and sponsors met with students in Roger Sprague’s class at the Kingsford Park Elementary School to deliver Norway spruce seedlings and educational materials for grades kindergarten through fifth.
Now in its 23rd year, the program is coordinated by Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County 4-H and sponsored by Entergy Nuclear Northeast and Oswego County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs.

More than 100,000 seedlings have been donated since the inception of the project.
Accepting the seedlings (in front) are Samantha Todice, Sophia Barr, Ashley Bacon, Bobby Johnson, Collin Cunningham and Nolan O’Brien.
In back are Sprague, Linda Brosch (Cornell Cooperative Extension), Tammy Holden (Entergy), Chuck Parker (Oswego County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs) and Erica Schreiner (Oswego County Solid and Water Conservation District).
