With residents of Bishop’s Commons celebrating National Assisted Living Week beginning on Sept. 11, the theme of remaining “Forever Proud” of achievement, service, family, and the United States of America was the focus of activities throughout the week.

“Collecting donations from our staff, residents and families for care packages was one way we were able to show our pride in our county,” noted Senior Living Coordinator, Julie Chetney.

Nearly ten packages full of goodies, personal care items, reading materials, games, and Girl Scout cookies were put together by residents.

“Our resident veterans were very much involved in the project as they know first hand how much a package from home means when you’ve been gone so long,” Chetney added.

Residents are still looking for local soldiers to send packages to.
