OSWEGO, New York – Stephen A. Sharkey has been named Business Development Officer at Pathfinder Bank, according to Ronald Tascarella, Senior Vice President/Chief Credit Officer.
Sharkey’s primary responsibilities will include servicing new deposit and loan clients for Pathfinder bank, while maintaining quality relationships with existing clients.

Sharkey has been involved in banking for decades, most recently as vice president and branch manager of Alliance Bank, NA in North Syracuse. Prior to this he served as the assistant VP and branch manager from 1993-1999 for M&T bank in Syracuse. In addition, he held numerous positions at Chase Manhattan Bank, NA (formerly Citibank, NYS) in Syracuse from 1979-1993, including vice president and branch manager, as well as the bank’s chief of staff and area sales manager.
In 1993, Sharkey was named an Excell Program Recipient at Chase Manhattan Bank, NA. He has also received many awards from Citibank, including Professional Branch Manager in 1985; President’s Club award in 1989-90; and the Citipride Service Award in 1990.
Sharkey, a resident of Liverpool, New York, graduated from Central City Business Institute in Syracuse, with an Associate Degree in occupational studies with a major in business administration.
