OSWEGO, NY – History is being made as Syracuse University begins its inaugural season with the Atlantic Coast Conference. Your chance to own a piece of that history comes at this year’s Scrabble Fest on Friday.

An SU inaugural ACC 2013 season T-shirt, signed by members of the football team, is being featured at the silent auction during the seventh annual Diane Falise Memorial LVOC Scrabble Fest to be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Oswego Elks Lodge, 132 W. Fifth St.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., welcome is at 6:15 p.m., and play begins promptly at 6:30 p.m.
Spectators are invited and welcome to attend; admission is $15 and includes light refreshments and participation in the silent auction, 50/50 and door prize drawings. If you’d like to register a team, please call 342-8839 to see if openings remain.
Scrabble Fest, which serves as a fundraiser for LVOC, helps to raise awareness of LVOC’s efforts to increase literacy in Oswego County.
A program of Oswego County Opportunities Education Services, LVOC provides confidential services at no cost to the students such as: Basic Literacy that includes reading, writing and simple math skills; English Literacy to improve English speaking, reading and writing skills; and Computer Literacy to teach basic computer skills.
