Special Needs Children Enjoy Movie Day in Oswego

ARC of Oswego County, in cooperation with Oswego Cinema, recently hosted a Movie Day for children with special needs and their families.

Often, families of children with special needs hesitate to bring them to a movie, whether because they are not comfortable in a dark room, or may not be able to follow the typical rules about remaining quiet during the movie.

But with the special Movie Days, all children are welcome to enjoy the cinema experience.

Children with special dietary needs can bring their own snacks, and no one minds the occasional outburst during the exciting parts.

Several lucky children got their own “Yogi Bear” movie poster.

For many, like Kendall, the snacks are an important part of the movie experience.
