Oswego, NY – Kinney Drugs in Oswego and Members of the Evening Torch of Southwest Oswego United Methodist Church partnered together recently to provide Christmas gifts to the residents of Sunrise Residential Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center this past week.
According to Jack Palmer, Manager of Kinney Drugs in Oswego, their store selected Sunrise as the beneficiary of their gift tree program this year, where people could select a tag off their store tree and provide a gift back for distribution to Sunrise during the holidays.
Kinney Drugs organized the program and delivered approximately 150 gifts to Sunrise prior to Christmas.
Co-presidents of the Evening Torch of Southwest Oswego United Methodist Church, LaVerne Laughlin and Marla Berlin, picked 43 tags from the Kinney tree to help support the Sunrise residents.
“We can’t thank Kinney Drugs and Southwest Oswego United Methodist Church enough for what they did for our facility,” said Sharon Kirk, Director of Recreation Therapy at Sunrise. “It truly brought smiles to each of the residents’ faces this holiday season.”

Sunrise Residential Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center is a family-owned and operated, 120-bed long-term and sub-acute care facility located at 17 Sunrise Terrace in Oswego.
