St. Francis Commons Event Honors Christine Taylor as Leading Age NY Employee of Distinction Award Recipient

OSWEGO – Christine Taylor, who has been with the St. Francis Commons and Bishop’s Commons organizations in Oswego for fourteen years, was honored as a LeadingAge New York Employee of Distinction Award recipient during a reception held recently at St. Francis Commons in her honor.

The Employee of Distinction Award acknowledges the extraordinary efforts of front line staff working in senior care settings like St. Francis Commons, all across New York State.

Those on hand to congratulate Taylor and join in the celebration included her family, friends, St. Francis Commons residents and fellow staff.

In attendance was Oswego County Legislator James Karasek, who is Chair of the Legislature’s Health Committee. Karasek thanked Taylor for her dedication to the care of older adults in the community and for the positive impact she has on her colleagues in healthcare.

Julie Chetney, Director of Senior Services, on introducing Taylor described her work ethic, leadership and her caring and compassion as the basis for her nomination for this award. “For those who have the privilege of working with her, Chris is a dynamic individual, dedicated to improving the wellbeing of our residents each and every day and serves as an outstanding role model for other employees.”

St. Francis Commons Director Kelley Greene noted, “This recognition is well earned and we are fortunate to have Chris, and pleased to share this statewide recognition celebrating her achievements here among residents, colleagues, family and friends. A common theme often repeated when describing Chris is her willingness to go beyond what is expected, and to make everyday a better day for our residents and fellow professional caregivers. ”
