Stargazing Night Rescheduled Oct. 29

OSWEGO, NY – The H Lee White Marine Museum, located in Oswego’s “Historic Maritime District,” is pleased to announce “Stargazers Night,” which was rained out last week, has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 29.

The museum and Treasure Chest Gift Shop will be open at 7 p.m. prior to the program.

Join us for a night of stargazing, featuring Dr. Scott Roby, associate professor of astronomy at SUNY Oswego.

He will present “The History Of Our Constellations,” as well as information on viewing of the night sky in our area.

Professional equipment will be available for closer viewing of the cosmos – observe the stars, planets and moon through these high-powered lenses.

“We are so pleased to continue this program which would not be possible without the SUNY Oswego’s Earth Science Department. We have partnered on this program for nine years,” noted Mercedes Niess, executive director.

As program size is limited, pre-reservation is required.

Participants must be age 12 and over.

Large groups cannot be accommodated.

A nominal $8 fee ($5 for museum members and students with valid ID) will include refreshments and admission to the museum.
