Oswego, NY – The Step One Creative Girls 14u hockey team of the Oswego Minor Hockey Association defeated Lysander 3-0 recently at Crisafulli Rink in Oswego.
The Lady Bucs captured the win over Lysander behind goals by Paiton Colucci, Leah Cady and Clare Furlong.
A scoreless game after the first period, Colucci opened the scoring for Oswego off an assist from Marissa Sharkey and Furlong.
Cady would add an unassisted goal early in the third period, before Furlong topped off the Oswego scoring later off an assist from Sharkey.
The Oswego 14u team is a New York State Amateur Hockey Association Tournament bound team, and this Qualifying “Q” game win moved them closer to securing a spot in the March tourney.
Mackenzie Battelle got the win in net for Oswego, making 25 saves and key stops against Lysander throughout the contest.
A balanced attack on offense and defense helped in the Oswego win. Others contributing for the Lady Bucs were Gracie Bearup, Alyssa Budd, Kyra Budd, Ilyssa Ford, Kara Hsu, Jillian Keegan, Ava Lasell, Clementine Rastley and Makenzie VanPatten.
Oswego is coached by Cory Keegan, Greg Sharkey and Wenwei Hsu.
