PHOENIX, NY – The hallways of John C. Birdlebough High School recently transformed into an art gallery as student creations were on exhibit at the districtwide art show.

More than 1,000 different pieces — ranging from ceramics to pencil drawings and everything in between — were featured as part of the annual show. The exhibit included work from students at each grade level throughout the district, and families had the opportunity to view each masterpiece.

“Our art students are incredibly talented,” said members of the Phoenix Central School District Art Department. “We see their amazing work every day, and it is so nice to be able to showcase and share it with families as well.”

In addition to viewing student artwork, attendees also had a chance to enter into a raffle and purchase some ceramic bowls as a fundraiser for Erin’s Angels. The “empty bowls” initiative was designed to raise funds for Erin’s Angels, a nonprofit organization that helps combat food insecurity in central New York.

“Our students created these amazing bowls, and our PCSD community absolutely loved them,” said EJD art teachers Beth Pritchard and Brandi Finniss. “We were able to raise $855 this year through the raffle and sales of various bowls. We’re so proud of our student artists and grateful to everyone who supported this effort!”
