The Fairgrieve Elementary School community united for a great cause on Feb. 7, as donations poured in for the American Heart Association.

During the school’s daily Morning Express program, students and staff – clad in red in recognition of February as American Heart Month – opened their wallets and donated money to the American Heart Association.
According to Principal Jean Ciesla, the outpouring of support was tremendous, with contributors filling the donation cans with $150.
The collection was just one heart event that the school helps promote during the month of February.
Students are also learning about heart-healthy nutrition and learning different cardiovascular exercises in physical education classes.
