Oswego, NY – Sunrise Residential Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Oswego, has received ‘Very Positive’ survey results from the New York State Department of Health for facility compliance with all State and Federal program requirements, according to Joseph Murabito, Sunrise Administrator.

“We are extremely pleased with the Department of Health’s survey results,” said Murabito. “The Sunrise staff should be proud of this achievement.”

The Department of Health Survey is recognized as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting the performance standards. The Sunrise Nursing Home on-site survey was completed on March 3, 2011.

“Our survey results are a continued validation of the Sunrise team’s efforts and job well done,” said Murabito. “The last 24 months have been very gratifying for our entire team.  Positive survey results like this infuse energy into a team and motivates them to do better and better.  We are looking forward to more good things to come.”

The New York State Department of Health, Division of Quality and Surveillance for Nursing Homes and ICFs/MR, licenses and conducts surveys and investigations of the quality of care and life for the approximately 117,000 people residing in 636 nursing homes in New York State.  The Department conducts Certification Surveys, with the time between surveys ranging from 9 months to 15 months at each nursing home. The survey teams are comprised of trained health care professionals in nursing, nutrition, social work, pharmacy and sanitation. Survey results include Standard Health Inspection and Life Safety Code Inspection.

“The positive survey results illustrate the hard work and the considerable effort this facility and staff provide with regard to patient care,” said Sunrise Nursing Home Medical Director, Dr. Renante Ignacio. “Over the last 18 months this Nursing Home has proven their strong commitment to excellence and quality health care.”

According to Andrea Doviak, Sunrise Nursing Home’s Director of Nursing, “The staff works hard to ensure the nursing home operations grow in the right direction 365 days a year. We are not defined by regulations and a survey, but defined by who we want to be, and that is the best.”
