OSWEGO – Residents at The Gardens discovered their painting skills when SUNY Oswego students Alicia Madonna and Olivia Allen, stopped by for a painting demonstration.

Madonna and Allen, both majoring in Studio Art, gave the residents tips as each resident created their own painting using acrylic paints on canvas.
“It was a wonderful activity,” said Jill Little, activities director for The Gardens. “It’s nice to have intergenerational activities, Olivia and Alicia enjoyed it as much as our residents.”
Visiting The Gardens and painting with the residents is part of Madonna and Allen’s Studio Practicum class that encourages them to be out in the community and gain experience that will benefit their professional development.
Located at 132 Ellen St., The Gardens is a 106-bed assisted living community that provides an active living community and promotes independence while offering the support services necessary to assist individuals with health care needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
