OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego students and faculty will offer small prints of original artwork for sale as a Hurricane Sandy relief fundraiser starting Dec. 7 at Oswego State Downtown.

The exhibition will host a free public opening reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 8, for the artists at the downtown branch of the College Store, corner of West First and Bridge streets in Oswego. The exhibition and sale will run through Feb. 2.
“The commitment to support our friends and neighbors is close to home, as many of the participating students hail from areas impacted by the superstorm,” said Cynthia Clabough, art department professor and chair. “The department has a long tradition of fundraising, and it’s part of the culture here.”
Oswego State Downtown will exhibit and sell small prints in framed sizes between 8″ x 10″ and 8.5″ x 11″ at prices ranging from $8 to $15. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Hurricane Sandy Fund.
Student artists participating in the exhibition and sale are donating reproductions of work they produced this semester.
The small prints represent work from across the department, including design, drawing, graphic design, illustration, photography and printmaking, Clabough said. The artwork will be on quality paper and in frames.
SUNY Oswego’s art department, Tyler Art Gallery and Auxiliary Services co-sponsor the holiday fundraiser.
Oswego State Downtown is open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
