SUNY Oswego Marks Martin Luther King Day

SUNY Oswego's recent Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration featured a proclamation by Oswego Mayor Randolph Bateman. From left are celebration co-founder Tony Henderson, who retired from the college in January; SUNY Oswego Associate Provost and Oswego Common Council member Cathy Santos; the Rev. Richard Rice of Rochester; SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley; and Mayor Bateman. Noting that Santos is the first person of color to serve on the Common Council, Bateman invited her to read the mayor's proclamation during the ceremony. The event concluded with an oratorical contest sponsored by the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.
