SUNY Oswego’s 64th Juried Student Exhibition on Display Through Nov. 13

OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego’s 64th annual Juried Student Exhibition is on display through Nov. 13, 2026, at Tyler Art Gallery in Tyler Hall, 71 Sweet Road.

The exhibition, which opened Oct. 16, was among the campus arts offerings highlighted by State University of New York Chancellor John B. King Jr. in an Oct. 22 release ahead of National Fine Art Appreciation Day on Sunday, Oct. 25.

Sponsored by the Student Art Exhibition Club and open to submissions from all SUNY Oswego students, the show brings together work in a range of media. The SUNY release describes it as Tyler Art Gallery’s largest show of the year and notes that pieces are purchased for the university’s permanent collection.

According to the university’s exhibition page, students help choose jurors, run the gallery and install the show. This year’s jurors were Joey Sweener and David Macdonald. The work includes painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, graphic design, digital art and animation.

The exhibition’s opening reception took place Oct. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m.

“SUNY is proud to be a leader and champion of the arts and art education. Throughout the SUNY system, our campuses provide students and their local communities with the opportunity to view and experience excellent art, without having to travel far from home,” King said in the release. “The arts are a crucial way to foster human connection, and we celebrate the amazing artwork that is on display at our campus galleries statewide.”

The SUNY Board of Trustees said, “SUNY is proud of our efforts to create an environment where our students and their communities can form connections through the arts. We commend our campuses for their work to make art more accessible for their students, and local communities.”
