OSWEGO — SUNY Oswego’s Direct Day on Nov. 4 will welcome around 150 students from more than 20 partner school districts in Oswego and Onondaga counties, according to the university.
The admissions program launched earlier this year to streamline the path to college for regional students.
The event begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Hewitt Hall Ballroom with a welcome. The open house-style program runs until 1 p.m. and includes campus tours and opportunities to connect with current students and faculty.
SUNY Oswego Direct simplifies admissions steps, waives the application fee for participating students, shortens the time between application and admission decisions, and connects eligible students with need-based scholarships.
The university said the program’s expansion builds on enrollment gains in Oswego County. A total of 110 first-year students from the county enrolled at SUNY Oswego in fall 2026, the highest total in six years.
In-county enrollment increased 30.8 percent over fall 2025 and was 25 students above the county’s 2021–25 average, according to SUNY Oswego.
